At the time their paths first crossed in 1987 at a tall-building law firm in downtown Dallas, Cynthia had just left the Dallas Court of Appeals after serving as Justice and Chief Staff Attorney and Nona, following a stint with a federal district judge in Birmingham, Alabama, was a new associate. For over a dozen years, they practiced together, and although their backgrounds couldn't be more different, the pair quickly discovered how their synergy enabled them to produce good results for their clients. Nona eventually left the big firm to pursue other interests, but after a decade of practicing in separate locations the two decided to reunite to form Hollingsworth Walker.
Hollingsworth's background enables her to be uniquely suited to assist trial lawyers to analyze the client's claims, to develop the best strategy for achieving the client's objectives, and to participate in the trial process. Her clients are often trial lawyers who call on her for appellate assistance and also those who benefit from her experience in preparation of jury charges, motions for summary judgments and other case-dispositive motions, and general trial support.
Walker has handled a multitude of litigation matters, with particular interest in resolving business disputes. Her in-house experience has sharpened her skill at honing in on her client's needs and objectives which often enables her to resolve disputes in the most cost-effective manner.
With over 60 years of trial-related practice between them, Hollingsworth Walker has the experience to take a case to trial or to handle its appeal. For their attorney colleagues who need assistance in working up a case, HW can often offer a fresh perspective in the development, trial, and appeal of any matter and, importantly, without interfering with existing attorney/client relationships.

Nona Walker knows the importance of delivering high value legal services. As a skilled trial lawyer with almost three decades of representing clients in the courtroom, she is equipped to guide her clients through the complex judicial process while efficiently advancing the case. During her career she has had the opportunity to experience litigation from many vantage points. As a law clerk for a federal district judge she learned to appreciate the judicial perspective. While serving as corporate counsel for a large lending institution and a publicly-traded corporation, she gained insight about the client's perspective. At the onset of each case she works with her clients to define objectives and to plan and budget the work needed to attain specific goals. Her proven ability to develop a case strategically, consistent with the goals and objectives of her clients, form the foundation of her history of success in the legal arena.
Practice Areas:
Walker specializes in representing businesses and individuals in disputes, typically involving sophisticated commercial transactions, tort law, environmental claims, deceptive trade practices, trade secrets, and employment law.
Professional and Trial Experience:
Prior to forming Hollingsworth Walker she served as corporate counsel for AMN Healthcare, Inc., where her responsibilities included litigation management, contract negotiation, government contracts, dispute resolution, and compliance. In the early nineties, Walker managed an extensive litigation docket as in-house counsel for a multibillion-dollar savings and loan institution and later served as Coordinating Counsel for a Fortune 500 company, overseeing asbestos premises liability litigation. She was associated with the Houston and Dallas offices of Gardere & Wynne for twelve years, prior to joining Rose-Walker, LLP, where she was a partner until her husband's death in 2007.
Recent litigation experience includes enforcing non-competition agreements on behalf of an employer, development of claims and defenses in a document-intensive bet-the-company trade secrets case, prosecuting tort and contract claims by an information technology company against a former consultant, defending an insurance carrier against claims by former agents against insurance code violations, deceptive trade practices and breaches of fiduciary duty, and defending against personal injury claims of independent contractors on clients premises.
Walker obtained her law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1984.
